TGI Entertainment began operation in 1994 in the East Village area of Manhattan under the name of 3rd Street Management. 3rd Street Management negotiated contracts for featured players appearing in a number of New York City state productions. As time went by, Sam Houston began to manage a number of coast base SAG (Screen Actors Guild) members. After expanding his client list to several prominent west coast SAG and AFTRA members, in 1998 3rd Street Management moved to San Francisco changing the company name to TGI.
In 2002 TGI expanded by purchasing the Chicago based Purple Heart Films and moving the company to San Francisco. TGI then began producing film shorts and music videos. While talent management profits increased Purple Heart took another year before becoming profitable.
In early 2007 Purple Heart films was sold at a sizeable profit. TGI then focusd on talent management and creating profitable production package deals.
In February 2007 TGI Entertainment once again began producing film and video properties under the company name.
A San Francisco based Talent Management and Film Production company. Management specializes in working with established as well as up and coming clients in the entertainment industry. Among them are Recording Artists, Actors, Directors, Screenwriters and other industry professionals.
TGI Entertainment's production divisions produces and finances film properties with a total budget not exceeding 45 million dollars.
TGI Clients have appeared in, or are of the following productions: The Last Time, Verizon (commercial & advertisements), 30 Rock, Life, Voyager, American Gangster, Heros, Lost, Wedding Crashers, Chuck, Life, Transformers, No Country for Old Men, and Entourage.
Sam C. Houston was raised in Scarsdale, New York a small town in Westchester County north of New York City. In his Freshman year of highschool Sam's family moved to Bridgeport, Connecticut where he completed school. Soon after his graduation Sam joined the United States Navy, becoming a Corpsman assigned to combat units of the United States Marine Corps. Sam served two tours of duty in South Vietnam earning among other decorations three Purple Hearts for wounds received in three seperate combat actions. Upon completeion of his military service Sam attended Northwestern University earning a degree in Communications and later a Masters in Integrated Marketing.
Sam has held executive positions with the Hilton Hotel Corporation, George B Buck Actuarial Consultants, Charles Roberts and Associates and MRA & Associates.
Sam currently holds a Guest appointment at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
Sam is single and lives in San Francisco with a residence in Los Angeles, California.
