Fifty years later, Beach Boys fans are still clammoring for the endless summer.

Tickets for the May 12 appearance by the reunited Beach Boys at the 10,000-seat Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. were snatched up by fans in a single day.

As a result, a second show on May 13 has been added. Tickets will reportedly go on sale Feb. 24, though there has been no official word from the Connecticut casino.

Founding members of the Beach Boys Brian Wilson, Mike Love and Al Jardine, along with Bruce Johnston and David Marks, are touring together for the first time in two decades.

The band, who performed together at the Grammy Awards on Sunday, will also release a new studio album and commemorative 50th anniversary catalog with Capitol/EMI.

J.C. Penney is standing by its decision to make openly gay talk show host Ellen DeGeneres its new spokeswoman despite protests from a parent group.

The group called One Million Moms accuses the retailer of “jumping on the pro-gay bandwagon” after DeGeneres was announced as the new J.C. Penney spokeswoman last week.

The comedian responded to the group on her show Wednesday.

“This organization doesn’t think I should be the spokesperson because I am gay,” she said. “So for those of you tuning in for the first time, I’m gay. I hope you were sitting down. … So they wanted to get me fired, and I’m proud and happy to say that J.C. Full Post…

Astro might not have taken home top honors on “X Factor,” but the 15-year-old Brooklyn MC scored a huge win nonetheless. MTV News has exclusively learned that the Astronomical Kid signed a deal with “X Factor” mentor L.A. Reid over at Epic Records. The young rap phenom will appear on today’s “RapFix Live” to formally announce the deal in detail.

After the teenage rapper was sent home during the show’s December 1 episode, rumors began to swirl about where he would end up. Reports that ‘Stro would sign with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation hit the Web early, but in an interview with MTV News, the pint-size MC quickly shot that notion down.

Lindsay Lohan is in talks to play a young Elizabeth Taylor in an upcoming TV movie, according to a new report.

Bosses at the Lifetime network have been working on a film about Taylor since May 2011, two months after Taylor’s death in March 2011.

Independent producer Larry Thompson is overseeing the project, tentatively entitled , and insiders tells that Lohan has been discussing the lead role with TV chiefs.

The film is said to focus on the love affair between Taylor and Richard Burton.
