The future of Bostons oldest continuously operating theater is in doubt.
The Colonial Theater on Boylston Street will shut down this weekend after Saturdays final performance of West Side Story.
Emerson College, which owns the theater, has been unable to reach an agreement with Broadway Across America Boston, which has leased the theater for a decade.
Emerson continues to negotiate with other prospective tenants and hopes The Colonial wont be dark for long.
The theater opened in December 1900.
