Lindsay Lohan is in talks to play a young Elizabeth Taylor in an upcoming TV movie, according to a new report.

Bosses at the Lifetime network have been working on a film about Taylor since May 2011, two months after Taylor’s death in March 2011.

Independent producer Larry Thompson is overseeing the project, tentatively entitled , and insiders tells that Lohan has been discussing the lead role with TV chiefs.

The film is said to focus on the love affair between Taylor and Richard Burton. The celebrity couple split in 1974 after 10 years as husband and wife, before marrying again in 1975 – the second union lasted just a year.
