The phrase “Girls will be girls” has a whole new meaning at the multiplex. The raunchy comedy, once the domain of men in movies such as “American Pie,” “There’s Something About Mary” and “The Hangover, Part II” is now gender neutral. It’s girls gone wild on screen these days:
‘Bad Teacher’
Elizabeth (Cameron Diaz) could be a good teacher if she tried. It’s just she doesn’t want to try, at least not until there’s some real money on the line. She would rather show up at the school car wash wearing Daisy Dukes and pocket part of the cash in her breast-enlargement kitty. She drinks and drugs and pulls no punches when she finally gets around to grading student papers. A bedroom scene with Justin Timberlake, as a nerdy substitute teacher, is more humiliating than hot.

‘Bridesmaids’
Our restaurant critic assures us that food poisoning would take at least six hours to come on, but it’s within the hour in this comedy featuring Kristen Wiig as a reluctant and rivalrous bridesmaid. She unwittingly takes the female members of the bridal party for tainted Brazilian food, which exacts its revenge as the women are visiting a tony bridal shop with just one toilet. And sink. And a busy street outside, which is where Maya Rudolph’s stricken bride-to-be collapses in folds of fabric. And a heap of humiliation.

‘Horrible Bosses’
As Dr. Julia Harris, Jennifer Aniston flies solo. She seems to relish the raunch and shucks the all-American vibe she cultivated in other movies. This dentist squirts water on the crotch of her male assistant, talks dirty, repeatedly propositions him (while his fiancee is out in the dental chair) and likes to use her unconscious patients like sexual props. And you thought the novocaine needle could sting.
On a scale of one to 10: 9.
