The movie masterminds who brought the film chronicling Thor Heyerdal’s 1947 Pacific-crossing adventure to the big screen are set to hit the high seas again for the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean blockbuster.

Kon-Tiki directors Joachim Roenning and Espen Sandberg have boarded the Disney franchise for a new movie that is scheduled to hit cinemas in July 2015.

The Norweigan duo reportedly beat out ‘s Rupert Sanders for the job of directing Johnny Depp.

Action adventure movie Kon-Tiki, about legendary explorer Heyerdal’s bid to cross the Pacific Ocean on a wooden raft, landed Ronning and Sandberg Oscar nominations for Best Foreign Film.

Temperatures may seem mild for late May, but the more typical sultry days of summer are likely to appear before much longer.

Fortunately, several public pools and South Jacksonville’s Godfrey Park water toy will open for the season this weekend:

• Nichols Park pool will open at 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Hours will be from 12:30 to 6 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and from 12:30 to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Information about swim lessons will be announced next week, Jacksonville Parks and Lakes Superintendent Bruce Surratt said.

• Godfrey Park water toy will open at noon Friday. Hours will be from noon to 7 p.m. Monday-Friday and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.

Singer Carrie Underwood has become more akin to an “American Hero” to Oklahomans recovering from this week’s deadly tornado.

The 30-year-old OK native (and season 4 “American Idol” champ) has donated $1 million to the Red Cross for disaster relief, which will aid those rebuilding after Monday’s monstrous twister decimated the town of Moore, Oklahoma. The sum was generated by proceeds from her “Blown Away” tour.

“I have watched the devastation in my home state of Oklahoma over the past several days with great sadness,” Underwood said in a statement.

The actress brightened up a gloomy L.A. day today when visiting a medical center in Beverly Hills while wearing neon yellow jeans. Aside from sporting a bold color, she also acted boldly by jaywalking in front of a cop car while leaving the facility.

The actress returned from Cannes on Monday after sporting another yellow outfit — a Victoria Beckham summer dress — while shopping in France over the weekend.

But The Saturdays singer is already giving Kim Kardashian a run for her massive stashes of cash in the baby bump stakes.

The star, 24, showed off her growing baby bump on the red carpet at The Hangover Part III premiere in London on Wednesday night.

Frankie looked glamorous in a floor-length silver and white dress which she teamed with a silver clutch purse.

She had on a black necklace which matched her dark hair and looked very pregnant as she posed with her bandmates.
